Heaven Egg Festival
The Heaven Egg festival was an annual holiday celebrated in the second month of the year, memorializing the events of the Heaven Egg Rain.
Before the Demon Wars #
From 37-0 PBD, the Heaven Egg rain was remembered through celebration despite the truth of their purpose not yet being revealed. Most festivities were loosely religious, with towns and villages gathering in circles to dance around the landed Corian devices. The purpose behind the dances varied from town to town and even individual to individual--some believed their dancing and singing would appease the god slumbering within while others thought they were worshipping the entity that had sent the eggs. Others still celebrated for the sake of celebration.
During the Ancient Wars #
The Heaven Egg rain was not widely celebrated during the years 157 and 158 DHT on account of Lord Arbam's infectious anti-Ancient rhetoric. Certain small settlements (and The Eastern Provinces) continued to celebrate, but most kingdoms refrained since the Heaven Eggs were the source of the Ancient's "oppression and malice".
After the Ancient Wars #
Once the misguided zeal of Arbam and his warriors had been laid bare for the world to see, the Heaven Egg rain began to return as a celebratory event. However, with such a long time having passed, few remembered the actual events of the Heaven Egg Rain accurately. The Heaven Egg Festival became a time of egg-centric activities, including the celebration and honouring of poultry farmers, painting and decorating eggs, etc.
